Dedicated to my friend's father, God rest his soul
LYRICS to A SEASON FOR CHANGE:

The white hot sunlight sits in the freckles on my nose
Too much overtime and cheap wine took poetry out of my prose
I'm growin' shadows in the corners of my smile
Always chasing that shaded sundial

Lord, give me a season for change

The leaves burn orange and I'm still feelin' so blue
The trees are stripped of a green, that I too, once knew
I've ravaged the harvest and savored what's left of the sugarcane
So much unspoken, I'm beaten and broken, left out in the rain

Lord, give me a season for change

And as white snow falls and puddles ice
I only wish that I could have done everything twice
And the scent of the cold reminds me of home
And I know that I've still got room to grow

I'm covered in color and all I can see is the gray
I regain some strength just watching those robins play
New life begins as the aging grow older every day
But my glass has a chip and it's all slowly dripping away, away

Lord, give me a season for change
