Bio : Almost One
On Saturday, March 3, 2007, Steve Carrea, founder of the alternative rock band Almost One, took the stage at Dr. Gilbert's Cafe in Bronx, NY. With the assistance of his brother, Chris Carrea, and friend, Anthony Forzaglia, the young performer made his first big step beyond the shadow of his more prevalent cover band, which disbanded at the end of 2006 after three years. The set list was a combination of well-known rock songs and personal favorites, and concluded with Steve's only completed original song, "The Line." A second show was already planned, and one month later, the power trio was on stage at Manhattan College's Relay for Life, a benefit concert for cancer. Afterwards, Anthony returned his full attention to his primary band and Chris went on to persue his own musical interests a short time after, leaving Almost One at a single member. With encouragement from close friends and positive feedback of the "The Line," Steve sat down to write more songs. His determination to revive the band, coupled with interest in recording engineering, gave him the motivation to build a home studio. He enlisted the help of singer Chandler Mogel, in an endeavor to accentuate his lyrics with strong vocals that help bring to light the theme and meaning of the project. In addition, Anthony's return to perform drums on the recordings, including "The Line," helped facilitate the project. Currently, Steve plans on building an online community for Almost One where fans can easily listen to the music and enjoy a unique connection to the band through communication and interaction. October 2008 marked four years since the inception of Almost One back in 2004. WWW.MYSPACE.COM/ALMOSTONEMUSIC WWW.ALMOSTONE.COM
