Your profile cites about 200 influences, including such unfashionable names as Supertramp and Roger Waters sprinkled among the great and good of modern electronica. One name not on the list was Eels, whose early stuff did come to mind when I first heard this. The tune was pretty and the lyrics intriguing enough to make me want to listen to them more carefully. A very effective piece.

In choosing to keep things sparse you place extreme emphasis on the lo-fi vocal. In technical terms this was not well executed, with poor pitching and phrasing. However, it was an EFFECTIVE lead vocal, which is to me more important. It's frailty gives it charm.

Bit mushy and over-reverbed in places. Good EQ-treatment for the voice. An overall nice effect.

I have to make my judgement on the basis of a single track, and so I have no real idea of what your greater body of work is like. But on that basis I enjoyed "Beautiful Mistake" very much. However, I suspect that it would begin to find this vocal style and sound grating over more than one track.

I found both lyrics and music simplistic. I accept that Castaneda's message is partly that simplicity is a beautiful criterion of truth, but the path is always complicated

Although I often like music that mixes genres, there's no certainty that the end result will work. I didn't feel this did.

Keep trying mixing the genres as you do but be prepared for some to be very difficult to perfect. Some things just don't mix.
