Bio : The black aces

'The Black Aces' are a raw electric delta blues duo from the southwest. Fronted by Blues guitarist Johnny Sharp they play their own versions of oldtime popular blues songs from the 30's 40's and 50's aswell their own self-penned material. After many years as performing musicians and founder members of blues band 'The Spoonful', both decided to form an authentic blues duo playing powerhouse foot stomping raw electric delta blues and naming themselves in tribute to the late great & widely unknown delta bluesman, 'Black ace'. Purely born out of a love for American roots music, Delta,Chicago & Memphis blues, and a mutual disdain for the state of popular commercial music, the two experienced musicians with a passion for playing live have set out to revive the soul and power of Americana and juke joint blues. 'The Black Aces' have their own unique unearthly sound and produce soulful, footapping honest music that not only reminds us of a bygone era, but keeps the spirit of the blues alive today.
