Manchester based hard edge, sub pop, band The Vanguards, comprises of Thom Twemlow (guitar & vocals), Joey Jennings (bass), Richie Hearn (guitar) and Tom Bishop (drums).

Think early Police, Squeeze, Xtc, Foo Fighters and some Neill Young!

After growing up together jamming in different bands, which have taken them all over the world, the seed of this new project was planted. The Vanguards quickly developed into a band after helping Thom perform his solo album live.

Within months they started writing fresh material, and whilst working closely with production duo Dave Tolan and Jim Spencer of Highway Stars, they developed a British alternative indie sound.
